How do I book a venue?

Find a space you like, pick your date and time, and click "Request to Book." Some venues have Instant Book enabled, so you'll get confirmed right away. Others require host approval first, which usually takes a few hours.

When do I get charged?

Your card is authorized when you submit a booking request but you're not charged until the host confirms. If they decline or don't respond within 48 hours, the hold is released.

What if I need to cancel?

Each venue has its own cancellation policy -- you can see it on the listing page before you book. Most offer full refunds if you cancel 48-72 hours before the event. Late cancellations may incur a partial charge.

Can I visit a space before booking?

Some hosts are open to tours. Message them through the platform and ask. Many listings also have enough photos and reviews that you'll have a good idea of what to expect.

What's covered by the guest guarantee?

If a host cancels last minute or the space doesn't match the listing description, we'll help you find an alternative venue or issue a full refund. Contact us within 24 hours of the issue.

How do I contact a host?

Click the "Message Host" button on any listing to send a question. You don't need to book first. Most hosts respond within a few hours.

How much does it cost to list?

Creating a listing is free. We take an 8-12% service fee from each booking, depending on the price. That covers payment processing, customer support, and our host guarantee program.

How do I get paid?

Payments are deposited via ACH within 48 hours of the event. You'll need to add your bank account in your host dashboard. We send a 1099 at the end of the year if you earn over $600.

Can I block certain dates?

Yes. Your calendar lets you block dates, set recurring availability, and sync with Google Calendar or iCal to avoid double bookings.

What if a guest damages my space?

Our host guarantee covers up to $10,000 in property damage per booking. Document the damage with photos and submit a claim within 72 hours of the event. We review claims within 5 business days.

Can I require a security deposit?

Yes. You can set a security deposit amount when creating your listing. It's held by Holdaspot and returned to the guest within 7 days if there are no damage claims.
