What we collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign up with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Booking information: When you book a venue, we collect your event details (date, guest count, event type) and payment information. Payment card numbers are processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

Host information: If you list a space, we collect your venue details, photos, bank account information for payouts, and tax information (for 1099 reporting).

Usage data: We collect basic analytics like pages visited, search queries, and device type. We use this to improve the platform, not to target ads (we don't run ads).

How we use your data

• To provide the Service: processing bookings, facilitating payments, sending confirmation emails.
• To improve the platform: understanding which features get used, fixing bugs, improving search results.
• To communicate with you: booking updates, host messages, customer support, and occasional product updates (you can opt out).
• To prevent fraud and abuse: detecting fake listings, suspicious payment activity, and account misuse.

What we share

We share your name and event details with hosts when you book their space. Hosts see your name, email, event date, guest count, and any message you include with your booking request.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with service providers (Stripe for payments, email delivery services) only as needed to operate the platform. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (like saved venues and search filters). We use basic analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records are retained for 3 years for accounting and legal purposes. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except for data we're required to retain by law.

Your rights

You can access, update, or delete your personal information at any time from your account settings. To request a full data export or account deletion, email privacy@holdaspot.co. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

Children

Holdaspot is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
